Gbeck Future Film Festival to host Iranian film ‘Shahin’

Iranian feature film ‘Shahin’ has been selected to compete at the 7th edition of the Gbeck Future Film Festival (GbeckFF) in Canada.

Directed by Salar Tehrani, the film is about a policeman and his wife.

Gelareh Abbasi, Alireza Kamali-Nejad, and Mehran Ranjbar have played three of the leading roles in the flick.

The film has previously participated in a number of international festivals, including the Fajr Film Festival in Iran, the Pigdon Street International Film Festival in Australia, and the Asian Film Festival, Los Angeles Hollywood in the US.

According to the GbeckFF website, “It is a competition of original films created by filmmakers from around the world, designed to discover and support young filmmakers. The short list for the 7th GbeckFF will be released in February 2021, and the winners will be announced in April. The 2021 Gbeck Future Film Screening will be presented in April in Prince Edward Island”.
